Past Employee Reference Check Policy
At BUTLER Singapore, we understand the importance of conducting reference checks as part of the hiring process. To facilitate this process for potential employers, we have established the following policy for reference checks on our employees:
Contact Information: To request a reference check, please reach out to our Human Resources department at HR@getbutler.com.
Authorization: All reference checks must be conducted with the authorization of the employee in question. We will not release any information without their explicit consent.
Timing: We will make every effort to respond to reference check requests in a timely manner. Please allow a minimum of two business days for our HR department to process your request.
Confidentiality: All information provided during a reference check will be kept confidential, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Limitations: We will only provide information that is directly related to an employee’s job performance, qualifications, and conduct during their time at BUTLER Singapore. We will not provide any information about an employee’s protected characteristics, such as age, race, or religion.

New Employee Reference Check
At BUTLER, we are committed to hiring the best candidates for our open positions, and we understand the importance of conducting thorough and professional reference checks. This policy outlines the procedures for conducting reference checks for all potential new hires at BUTLER in order to assure the quality, standards, and professionalism of our hiring process.
Procedures:
- All candidates who have been selected for further consideration will be required to provide a minimum of three professional references. The references should be from individuals who have directly supervised the candidate in their previous roles.
- The Human Resources department will contact each reference provided by the candidate, using a standard reference check form.
- The reference check form will include questions that are relevant to the position and the candidate’s qualifications. The form will also assess the candidate’s work performance, work habits, strengths, and weaknesses.
The Human Resources department will document the results of each reference check in the candidate’s file.
If a candidate is being considered for a position that requires a specific skill set, we may also reach out to references who have experience working with the candidate in that specific field.
The hiring manager and human resources representative will review the results of all reference checks before making a final hiring decision.
If a candidate is unable to provide three professional references, the candidate’s qualifications will be thoroughly vetted through additional interviewing and/or testing.
Confidentiality:
All reference check information will be kept confidential and will only be shared with authorized personnel involved in the hiring process.
The reference check information will be kept on file for a period of 2 years and will be destroyed after the 2 years period.
We strive to maintain the highest level of quality, standards, and professionalism in all aspects of our hiring process, including reference checking. By following these procedures, we aim to ensure that we are hiring the best candidates who align with BUTLER’s mission and values.

[BUTLERINSUITS PTE LTD] (“we” or “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of our users (“user” or “you”).
